Message I'm sorry you guys can't handle my extreme disappointment and outlash about what this exchange came to, but I can say that I'm simply disappointed and I just let you all know.

But you can't call me wrong for the correction I made.. Dig up as much info as you like, read as many books as you wish, perform as many tests as you desire, you'll find that what I have stated is exactly how it works

If you have any doubts, let me just add one more thing:
IF JWT actually knew about the safety maps, and knowing that a richer mixture is safe, why didn't they at least add more fuel to make a safer configuration when a problem is detected?

Situation 1: JWT didn't know about it
Central 20, the company that showed them how to do this, simply setup their program to write to all the fuel maps when a change was made and same for the timing maps. Central 20 figured that high performance vehicles didn't need safety configurations because the owners were pushing them past OEM bounds.. So central 20 never told JWT.

Situation 2: JWT did know about it, but cared less.
So Central 20 showed them about the safety maps, but JWT didn't feel it was necessary, or they didn't want to 'waste their time' building the maps.

Either way, it reflects poorly on the mentality behind the development of the ECU.

Now there is a 3rd situation of which Greg D. is putting forth. That is the idea that dropping the timing in the safety mode will actually hurt the engine so this is why JWT doesn't drop timing in the safety map.

Not only is this backwards logic and completely opposite of the theory behind Nissan's original tune of the ECU, but if the primary reason for the safety maps is to provide a 'safer' configuration, wouldn't they at least add more fuel?? A richer mixture is going to be safer, unarguably.

So even if we were to put the ignition timing argument on the back shelf, then you're faced with the safety fuel map problem in the JWT program. How do you rationalize that?

BTW: This is not a social contest to see who is the sweetest member of the forum. I do not treat this place as such and never will. If I have a point to make, I will make it - class is in session and I'm not talking about sugarcoating.
